We are keen for as many people as possible to have the chance to visit and enjoy Epiacum. Please come to one of our events, or join a lively discusion in our Forum.

We encourage people with an interest in the site, especially local people, to join the ‘Friends of Epiacum’. The "Friends" has been established in order to give members an opportunity to:

  • Contribute to the development of the project
  • Offer volunteer time to support events
  • Help to conserve the site

Members can register for a fee of £10 a year and the benefits include:

  • Special “friends” events (free of charge)
  • Regular e-bulletins
  • Free (or heavily discounted) training opportunities

We are delighted that Stewart Ainsworth has agreed to take on the role of “President” and we look forward to his varied contributions to the work of the Friends.

Our first “FOE” event was on the 21st July 2012, when Stewart led a Guided Walk around the site, looking specifically “beyond the fort” at the archaeological remains identified by the lidar imaging which was carried out during the recent research.

If you would like to join the “FOE” group, please download and complete the Registration Form >
